Sports Fan’s Opinion on “Hottest” Woman’s Outfit Sparks Backlash on TikTok

by Demos

A sports fan’s opinion on the “hottest” outfit a woman can wear has sparked widespread backlash after a TikTok video he posted went viral, racking up 20.8 million views.

In the controversial video, Nicklaus Daniel stated, “This is the hottest thing a girl can wear,” adding that anyone who wears it “looks good.” He further described the outfit as one that “makes my mouth water,” in the caption.

Daniel shared the story of sitting courtside at a Boston Celtics game when he spotted a woman he believed to be the wife of a former player because she “looked good.” He described her outfit, which he called “the lethal combo,” as a “slicked back ponytail,” large gold hoop earrings, a black top, an oversized Celtics jacket, and Air Jordans. “That combo right there, I don’t care who you are, you look hot,” he declared.

He then asked TikTok users to help identify the woman, describing her as “blonde” and possibly in her 20s or 30s, sitting in the second row behind the goal. Some viewers speculated that she might be Emma Pritchard, the wife of Celtics player Payton Pritchard, after she posted a similar outfit in a video. However, not everyone agreed with the speculation.

The video, however, sparked a significant backlash, with many fans criticizing Daniel’s comments as “misogynistic” and “embarrassing.” One female commenter said, “I’ll never take fashion advice from a man,” while another added, “Who cares about what men like anyway?” A third wrote, “Thank god I don’t dress for the male gaze.”

Others dismissed the outfit as unremarkable. One fashion critic called it “basic, commercially trendy and boring,” while another quipped, “So basically what we wore in high school.”

On the other hand, some defenders supported Daniel’s perspective. One commenter questioned why people were upset, stating, “Nothing wrong with giving credit to pretty styles.” Another defended him, saying, “I am genuinely so embarrassed reading these comments. Why the need to immediately hate and troll?”

This controversy echoes a previous incident when Stirling Cooper, a self-proclaimed sex coach, faced backlash for calling women in jeans the “least feminine thing” he could think of.
