Paris Fashion Week officially kicked off, with celebrities stepping out in full force, including none other than Chappell Roan.
After performing with Elton John at his post-Oscar party in Los Angeles, Chappell made a surprise appearance in Paris, attending her first show at Rabanne. The singer sat front row in a beige and silver backless halter dress with lace detailing, paired with a matching knee-length skirt. She completed the look with dramatic drop earrings that complemented the metallic elements of her ensemble.
Of course, no look styled by Genesis Webb is complete without the perfect makeup. Chappell’s signature white face makeup was paired with dramatic smoky eyes that extended to her brows, and a neutral lip color.
Although she is relatively new to the fashion scene, Chappell has connections with Rabanne and its Creative Director, Julien Dossena. At the 2024 VMAs, she wore a medieval-inspired metallic chainmail dress by the brand, topped with a tasseled headpiece, while accepting the Best New Artist award. Her debut collaboration with a brand that has recognized her star power from the beginning seems like a natural choice.
Just hours later, Chappell underwent a transformation for the Rick Owens show in Tokyo. She continued the silver theme, wearing a structured strapless dress with large cutouts at the chest and waist. To complete the look, she wore black leather GCDS Morso knee-high boots, which featured exposed vampire fangs instead of traditional heels. She even took the time to switch up her makeup, adding symmetrical butterfly-like dot patterns on her cheeks and forehead.
On Saturday, Chappell swapped metallics for fiery red in a Ludovic de Saint Sernin outfit. She chose a red leather one-shoulder dress that hit just above the knee, paired with black strappy sandals. Her signature red hair was styled into a ponytail, with one curl resting on her shoulder, and she opted for white eyebrows that complemented her makeup. Outside the show, Chappell faced the winter weather in a brown suede coat with a wool lining.
At the Vivienne Westwood show, the singer sat front row alongside fellow Gen Z superstars Ice Spice and PinkPantheress. Her red hair was voluminous, paying tribute to the late designer, with added drama in the form of royal blue eye makeup and heavy blush. She wore a floor-length black sequin gown, which had a draped design revealing one side of her breast, covered with a layer of sheer fabric. Chappell accessorized with bold silver hardware, including a studded belt and Justine Clenquet hoop earrings.
Later that Saturday evening, Chappell attended the Alexander McQueen show, sitting front row with Sofia Isella, Zsela, Georgia Davies, and Abigail Morris from The Last Dinner Party. She wore McQueen’s signature look, except for the stockings on her head. The ensemble mirrored the show’s Victorian Gothic theme, with a pale yellow shirt featuring a sharp, pointed collar, layered with a black tailored suit that cinched at the waist and featured flowing trousers. Her ginger-red hair was parted into thick strands under the aforementioned stockings, and her makeup was ghostly white, with purple and black shadows making her eyes appear sunken. She also posed for photos with her stylist, Genesis Webb, and creative director, Ramisha Sattar.
How could it get any better? It seems like the answer was attending the Valentino show. Roan appeared on her final day at Paris Fashion Week in a stunning, Marie Antoinette-inspired Valentino gown. The dress featured a black velvet bodice with a thick red bow at the waist, while a white sheer chiffon and tulle ball gown skirt adorned with pink flowers completed the look. The off-shoulder sleeves also included the same floral detailing. Her makeup was theatrical, with a pink-toned complexion, sharp, arched pencil brows, and spidery lower lashes that created exaggerated doll-like eyes. Roan gracefully entered the venue, lifting her gown to navigate through a crowd of photographers before making her way into the show.
