Style Commerce ABL (CEO Kang Seok-hoon), the operator of the men’s fashion platform 4910 (Daguil Gong), announced on the 19th that the number of first-time buyers significantly increased following the recent redesign of the “On-boarding” app screen for new customers.
Launched officially in March last year, after a beta phase in June 2023, “4910 (Daguilgong)” aims to make fashion more accessible. The platform focuses on creating “a moment when fashion becomes easier” for its users.
Leveraging Ably’s advanced AI-powered “personalized recommendation technology,” which boasts the largest number of monthly active users in professional shopping malls, 4910 is ushering in the era of taste-based men’s fashion shopping.
The name “4910” reflects its goal to cater to a wide range of men’s fashion tastes, spanning ages 10 to 49, while also offering a platform where users can find quality products at reasonable prices.
In January, 4910 revamped its “Onboarding Screen” to help new users—who have no previous purchase experience—discover products tailored to their tastes, ultimately ensuring they feel comfortable using the app. The revamped onboarding process categorizes factors male shoppers consider important, such as △ awareness, △ cost-effectiveness, and △ quality. Based on the user’s selection of a key factor, the platform recommends products that match their preferred style.
By clearly defining preferred shopping styles and offering intuitive options, this revamped onboarding method provides more refined style recommendations compared to previous approaches.
Following this change in January, the platform saw a remarkable ninefold increase (800%) in the number of first-time buyers and a sixfold increase (500%) in new memberships, compared to the same period last year.
Among the fashion styles most favored during the onboarding phase in January, “cost-effective” products with trendy designs at affordable prices, such as “Mr. Jason,” “Single Boy,” and “Zavino,” accounted for about 50% of selections. This was followed by 30% of users opting for high-profile brands like “Nike,” “Adidas,” “8 Seconds,” and “Uniqlo.” Meanwhile, 20% of users preferred high-quality brands such as “CoverNat,” “1989 Standard,” and “AZOD.”
In addition, 4910 will soon hold a “Spring Clothing Festival,” offering an opportunity for everyone to enjoy spring fashion shopping without financial stress.
