Set against a futuristic backdrop of interlocking squares — reminiscent of an intergalactic Super Bowl — designer Ib Kamara showcased a bold, urban-inspired collection at Paris Fashion Week.
Off-White’s signature blend of utility, streetwear, and high concept was evident in Kamara’s latest work, which explored the concept of uniforms as both a symbol of unity and individuality. The brand’s name, coined by founder Virgil Abloh, was meant to represent the space between black and white, symbolizing the intersection of luxury and streetwear, as well as exclusivity and accessibility.
Structured shoulders, a hallmark of Kamara’s design, added a sense of power to both the men’s and women’s pieces. Women’s designs sculpted the body with zip-up tailoring and peplum tracksuits, while men’s looks took a bolder approach with layered hoodies, shredded denim, and anatomical trousers. The color palette featured muted neutrals, highlighted by vibrant pops of aqua, purple, and red, bringing depth to the collection’s futuristic vibe.
Kamara, known for blending heritage with innovation, stayed true to Off-White’s postmodern streetwear DNA. He introduced fresh ideas, such as the Sand Bag, which added a playful twist to everyday accessories.
As with every collection by the Sierra Leone-born designer, this one was filled with bold concepts that competed for attention. The mix of sportswear, tailoring, and industrial elements created a thrilling tension, though at times, the range of influences made the overall message feel expansive rather than sharply defined.
Despite this, Kamara’s work with Off-White continues the legacy of Abloh, who founded the brand in 2012 and revolutionized the fashion world by merging luxury with streetwear. Though Abloh’s passing in 2021 left a void, Kamara’s fearless, risk-taking spirit ensures the brand keeps moving forward. This collection proves that Off-White’s influence is only growing.
