Blending Afrofuturist philosophy with technical precision, the line explores themes of resilience and intergenerational healing while challenging fashion’s conceptual boundaries.
The AW25 collection centers on the family’s pivotal moment before confronting physical embodiments of their past, a tension reflected in its designs. Key characters include Lorrelle (the Protector), whose garments feature adaptive camouflage-inspired prints referencing forest biomes, symbolizing her role as guardian. Ricky (the Provider) embodies utilitarian functionality with layered, animal pelt-textured outerwear, paired with mentorship-focused accessories. Mum, a shapeshifter, is represented through hybrid fabrics—metallic beetle-shell textures, scaled reptilian patterns, and fur-like knits—that mirror her transformative abilities and adaptability.
A critical challenge addressed in AW25 was translating deeply personal stories into cohesive, collaborative designs. Previous seasons faced disconnect due to team unfamiliarity with the real-life family members inspiring the characters.
