Diesel took Milan Fashion Week by storm on February 26, unveiling its autumn/winter 2025-26 co-ed collection with an unsettling twist—models sporting milky gazes and spray-painted smiles, conjuring the eerie atmosphere of a zombie apocalypse.
The runway, heavily adorned with graffiti, set the tone for the collection, featuring daring and revealing silhouettes. Miniskirts were reimagined as peplums, paired with leggings or matching panties, while men showcased cheekily low-rise jeans. Models, wearing striking all-white or black contact lenses, strutted through 3.2 kilometers of graffiti-covered fabrics crafted by over 7,000 artists, with vibrant materials draped over human-shaped inflatables at the center of the venue.
Diesel continues to be a standout at fashion week, partly due to its innovative textiles. Highlights included a silicone fisherman-pattern V-neck with realistic chest hair detailing, reflective sheen-treated denim, and jerseys that appeared to dissolve, pushing the boundaries of fabric technology.
Designer Glenn Martens, known for his forward-thinking designs, will soon bring his creative vision to Parisian fashion house Maison Margiela, which shares an Italian owner with Diesel. Martens will take over from John Galliano at Maison Margiela, though no creative changes have been announced at Diesel.
Both Diesel and Maison Margiela are part of the OTB fashion conglomerate, a family-owned group.
Milan Fashion Week, running until March 3, is the third stop in the month-long global fashion calendar, following shows in New York and London, with Paris still to come. On February 26, other Italian fashion houses like Marni and Fendi also revealed their new collections, with heavyweights like Prada, Versace, Giorgio Armani, and Dolce & Gabbana set to present in the coming days.
