Ballet was the foundation of Ace Harper’s creative path, eventually leading her to a career as a professional dancer, working alongside stars like Lenny Kravitz, Jennifer Lopez, and Duran Duran. While immersed in the world of music and performance art, Harper quietly nurtured a vision that would later evolve into her fashion line—a unique blend of music, art, and storytelling.
Her latest collection, Talking Flowers, is inspired by the idea of chasing your dreams. “My 3-year-old daughter said, ‘Mommy, I had a dream… a dream about talking flowers,’ and that title just spoke to me,” Harper explains. Drawing on new wave and post-punk influences, as well as her travels to Japan, the collection features graphic prints and rich textures that symbolize personal growth and transformation. This concept mirrors the Japanese art of kintsugi, where broken ceramics are mended with gold to create something even more beautiful.
Harper’s signature style blends rock-n-roll-inspired shades—such as lipstick reds, punk pinks, and glam metallics—with luxurious fabrics like silk and jacquard. Though she has a love for comfy daywear, she notes, “Our uniform is the silk blouse paired with our denim.” And, of course, her blouse-denim combo strikes the perfect balance of casual chic.
As she takes the stage at Fashion Week El Paseo, Harper aims to transport the audience into a dreamlike realm where fashion becomes a powerful tool for self-discovery. She hopes that women who view her collection will see themselves in her designs and leave the show feeling emboldened to “unleash their iconic self.”
