TravisMathew, the American lifestyle and performance apparel brand, has announced that Kealia Watt, the former USWNT and NWSL star, will be its first female brand ambassador. Watt joins a roster of high-profile male athletes, including Rams QB Jimmy Garoppolo, Lakers G Austin Reaves, former NFL star Reggie Bush, and several golfers.
The announcement, made on National Girls and Women in Sports Day, comes as Watt shares her excitement about the partnership. In an interview with the company, she expressed how well the brand aligns with her lifestyle.
“I’m so excited to partner with TravisMathew as an official brand ambassador,” Watt said. “Their commitment to blending performance and style is something that really resonates with me, and it’s a perfect match for my lifestyle. I am proud to represent a brand that shares my passion for excellence!”
Watt is married to former NFL star J.J. Watt.
She officially retired from professional soccer in 2023 after leaving the Chicago Red Stars in 2021. After two years as a free agent, she announced her retirement. Before that, the 33-year-old Watt made her mark at the Houston Dash, where she ended a five-year stint as the club’s all-time leader in appearances. This record was later surpassed by Jane Campbell in 2023, but Campbell acknowledged that Watt will always be regarded as “Mrs. Houston.”
Since retiring, Watt has worked as a contributor and sideline analyst for Amazon Prime Video’s NWSL broadcasts since 2024. In addition to her media career, she and her husband J.J. are minority investors in English Championship club Burnley. The couple also participated in Burnley’s TST team, where Watt scored twice on her debut in the tournament.
