Pakistani actress Mansha Pasha has hit back at trolls criticizing women’s clothing choices.
The actress faced online backlash for her outfit at Yashma Gill’s sister’s wedding. In response to the criticism, Mansha addressed the comments directly on Instagram.
One user posted a comment on her photo, questioning her attire: “Why have you chosen to dress immodestly? Blindly following India?”
Mansha’s reply was sharp: “Why is it necessary to drag India into everything? If you don’t like the dress, that’s fine, but don’t make it seem like you’re suffering from an inferiority complex.”
She further addressed the issue on her Instagram stories, stating, “Selective whitening of history and culture while shaming today’s women is beyond comprehension.”
Mansha also shared screenshots from vintage Pakistani films, showing actresses in sleeveless dresses, semi-traditional outfits, and even smoking in tea houses. She pointed out that such styles are not new and have always been a part of the culture.
The actress emphasized that there’s no reason to shame women for their clothing choices today, as they reflect the fashion influences of past Pakistani actresses.
