Southeast Asian Streetwear Brands Unite for the S.E.A. No Borders Collection

by Demos

The streetwear scene in Southeast Asia just got more united as Don’t Blame the Kids (DBTK) from the Philippines, Ageless Galaxy from Indonesia, and Pestle and Mortar Clothing (PMC) from Malaysia collaborated to create the S.E.A. No Borders Collection.

The collaboration brought together Giorgi Krisno and Tamish Aswani from Ageless Galaxy, Hugh Ko and Jack Gan from PMC, along with Emil and Vince Javier from DBTK. They gathered recently at a brief event hosted by Liza Guillon in San Juan.

Tamish shared that the partnership took years to come to fruition, as each brand was preoccupied with individual projects. Eventually, they aligned their schedules and devoted time to make this collaborative collection a reality.

“It’s wild and amazing that we designed this entire collection through our WhatsApp group chat and Zoom calls,” Tamish said.

The roots of this collaboration trace back six years, when Ageless Galaxy and PMC teamed up on a successful project. That partnership inspired them to bring in DBTK, a streetwear brand from a different Southeast Asian country, for this new venture.

“This is just the beginning. We’ve been talking about expanding to more cities with this collaboration,” Tamish revealed.

The name of the collection, “S.E.A. No Borders,” was chosen to reflect the spirit of unity and limitless potential within the Southeast Asian streetwear community. Hugh explained, “S.E.A. represents our region, but it also stands for the idea of connection — how our culture, creativity, and ambition transcend borders. It’s a celebration of how, despite our differences in language or geography, we’re united by the same drive to tell stories, push boundaries, and make an impact.”

Tamish added, “We’re saying there are no borders or boundaries between us because we’re very like-minded people.”

Each participating brand designed a piece for the collection, with collaborative feedback from each side to ensure a cohesive result.

DBTK was responsible for launching the collection in the Philippines. The brand has had a 12-year journey in the Philippine streetwear scene, known for its dedication to its community and consistent support of passionate youth.

“We focus on the not-so-ordinary youth; those who dream, work hard, and constantly strive to be achievers,” Emil explained.
