British cycling apparel brand Rapha, known for its stylish and high-performance kits, has recently been targeted by fraudulent websites attempting to scam customers. Since its establishment in 2004, Rapha has built a strong reputation, particularly after its collaboration with EF Education-EasyPost for the 2021 Giro d’Italia, which catapulted the brand to even greater recognition. However, this recent wave of fake sites threatens to tarnish its good name.
In the past few months, Rapha has noticed the rise of numerous counterfeit websites that are offering deals that seem too good to be true. The latest fraudulent site, raphacycling-sale.shop, is part of this troubling trend. These fake sites are reportedly collecting payments from customers, but delivering no goods in return.
A spokesperson for Rapha explained that the brand is actively working to shut down these deceptive sites. They have urged customers to report any suspicious offers directly to Rapha, allowing the company to investigate and take appropriate action against further fraudulent activity.
“As Rapha grows as a global brand, we’ve unfortunately seen an increase in counterfeit websites pretending to sell our products,” the spokesperson said. “These fraudulent sites often target customers through social media, offering enticing discounts that ultimately leave people out of pocket with no products shipped.”
Rapha has been closely monitoring the situation and has a process in place to address the issue. “We are working diligently to report and shut down these fake sites as quickly as possible, in collaboration with our intellectual property protection specialists to enforce cease-and-desist actions,” the spokesperson added.
To help protect customers, Rapha is raising awareness and encouraging shoppers to be cautious. The brand has also provided official advice to help customers identify legitimate sites and avoid falling victim to scams. Rapha has emphasized the importance of reporting any fake websites or ads so they can be investigated further.
