New York Men’s Day (NYMD) will once again mark the start of New York Fashion Week, though this season’s lineup will be more selective.
Scheduled for February 6, the opening day of the weeklong NYFW, the biannual event will present six emerging men’s brands. Historically held on Fridays with 10 to 12 designers, the show has been trimmed down due to a change in scheduling. Agentry PR, the event’s organizer, explained that the shift to Thursday necessitated a smaller roster.
“Sadly, we are limited to six designers this season because of space availability,” said Erin Hawker, founder of Agentry. “When NYMD moved to Thursday, we lost the additional space we usually had when the event was held on Friday. However, with the new Thursday schedule, we’re already planning for more designers in September.”
The presentations will take place once again at Location05 near Hudson Yards, with two distinct sessions. The first session will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and the second will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Of the six participating brands, four are new to NYMD, while A. Potts and Sivan return to the stage. The full roster includes Hold NYC, Joseph McRae, Max Esmail, and Peak Lapel.
“We are excited to kick off 2025 and New York Fashion Week with New York Men’s Day on its new date, February 6,” said Hawker. “This intimate showing of six designers in two sessions offers the opportunity to introduce four new and emerging brands while bringing back A. Potts and Sivan, who have been with us for several seasons. Our mission is to highlight new talents and provide a platform for fresh voices in the fashion community. With the support of our partners, we hope NYMD continues to be a highlight of Fashion Week.”
This season, NYMD will be sponsored by Sperry, celebrating its 90th anniversary with updated versions of the CVO sneaker, originally designed by Paul Sperry in 1935. Additional sponsors include Oribe Hair Care and Augment makeup.
