Nike Inc. announced on Monday the promotion of Treasure Heinle to executive vice president and chief human resources officer, effective January 6. In her new role, Heinle will oversee the company’s global human resources operations and drive its people strategy. She succeeds Monique Matheson, who is retiring after 26 years with the company.
Heinle will be part of Nike’s senior leadership team and will report directly to Elliott Hill, President and CEO of Nike.
Heinle joined Nike in 2012 as vice president and HR business partner for North America. Since then, she has led HR teams across Nike’s global operations, as well as the global consumer and marketplace divisions. In 2022, she was appointed the company’s chief talent officer.
Before joining Nike, Heinle held HR leadership roles at companies including Danaher, Tektronix, and In-Focus.
“Treasure is a well-rounded leader with extensive experience in all areas of HR,” said Hill. “She has played a key role in driving a winning culture at Nike, building diverse teams, and supporting the company’s growth strategy.”
Matheson, who joined Nike in 1998, served in various HR leadership roles before becoming chief human resources officer in 2017. Hill praised her for her dedication to creating a high-performance workplace and making Nike a top destination for talent. “We are grateful for her many contributions and wish her the best in her retirement,” Hill added.
Heinle’s promotion comes shortly after Nike named Kizmet Mills as its new chief diversity, equity, and inclusion officer, effective November 11. Mills is the fifth person to hold this position since 2020.
