A fashion show in Powys has raised over £3,100 for Cancer Research UK.

The event, hosted by the Llanfair Caereinion Cancer Research Committee, took place at the leisure center on Friday, October 11, and drew a crowd of more than 230 attendees.

Models, including some committee members, showcased the latest autumn fashion from Daisy Blue of Llanfyllin during the show.

Margaret Hughes, chair of the fundraising committee, expressed gratitude for the event’s success, saying, “On behalf of the Llanfair Caereinion Cancer Research Committee, we want to thank everyone who supported the fashion show. It was a fantastic evening—great fashions, amazing entertainment, and most importantly, we raised a significant amount for this important cause.”

She also noted that the event’s popularity led to a change in venue to accommodate the large turnout. She thanked the staff at the leisure center for their support and added, “This event was a major success, and we appreciate the continued support from everyone who made it possible.”

The local committee works diligently to raise funds for Cancer Research UK, which conducts essential research into the causes and treatments of cancer. Hughes emphasized the importance of collective efforts to fight the disease, stating, “Together, we will beat cancer.”

Jackie Evans of Daisy Blue in Llanfyllin shared her appreciation for the event, saying, “We’re thrilled to support such a worthy charity and grateful for the chance to showcase our beautiful, affordable range of items. It was a pleasure to attend, and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.”
