LeBron James, in partnership with Nike for over two decades, has introduced the latest addition to his signature shoe line. James, who was drafted as the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft at just 18 years old, signed a multi-million dollar deal with Nike, a leading global sports brand.

Before earning accolades like the NBA Rookie of the Month and the 2003 NBA Rookie of the Year, James was already a sought-after talent. His impressive high school career, which included three state championships and one national title, made him one of the most anticipated rookies in NBA history. Despite offers from other major sports brands like Reebok and Adidas, James chose Nike before even stepping onto an NBA court.

Now, alongside iconic sneaker lines from Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan, James and Nike have built one of the most successful signature shoe lines in basketball history.

The latest release from this collaboration is the LeBron TR 1 (Trainer 1), which Nike has showcased in four distinct colorways: “Dunk Man” (green and black), “Better With Age” (orange and white), “Zero Dark 30” (black and gray), and “Purple Rain” (monochromatic purple). Priced at $130 USD, the shoe will be available from September 19 on Nike.com and at select retailers.

James emphasized the shoe’s purpose in an article on Nike.com: “The TR1 is for the athlete who’s in constant pursuit of greatness and puts in the work, day in and day out. Training is a huge part of my journey, and this shoe is designed for athletes to use during any workout, any time, any place.”

The LeBron TR1 is designed for versatility, suitable for both indoor and outdoor training. Nike highlights the shoe’s “ergonomic and lightweight design” with features such as forefoot flexibility, an inverted waffle outsole, a glove-like bootie construction, and a midsole wrap. These elements aim to make it ideal for various basketball training activities.

This release marks the 22nd shoe in James’ Nike collection, coinciding with his 22nd NBA season. With two more seasons remaining on his contract with the Lakers and having achieved his goal of playing alongside his eldest son, Bronny, James’ storied career approaches its final chapters.
