Bernard Ballard, a 77-year-old fashion designer from Harrisburg, is set to showcase his work at Harlem Fashion Week in New York City. With 52 years of experience, Ballard has crafted garments from afro-centric styles to spandex, satin, and silk. Recently, he has focused on faux-furs.
Some of his designs will be unveiled for the first time at the event. “It’s like a dream come true,” Ballard said. “Believe in yourself and pursue your goals.” Harlem Fashion Week starts on September 6, with Ballard’s debut on September 8.
