The rollout of the adidas Dame 9 will be unique compared to most signature basketball shoes. Instead of a general release, the new Damian Lillard shoe will first launch through a collaboration with BAPE on August 31st. This release will feature two distinct colorways.
BAPE has previously collaborated on Dame’s signature shoes, including the adidas Dame 4, which featured camo prints and shark tooth graphics. However, that collaboration occurred several months after the model’s initial release. This new partnership combines high-performance basketball features with BAPE’s renowned streetwear style, which is expected to attract attention to Dame’s latest shoe.
The two colorways launching on August 31st prominently display BAPE’s signature designs. One features olive green camo, while the other sports a more subdued red camo pattern. Both colorways include black midsoles and inner liners. Additionally, the shoes feature gold branding from both adidas and BAPE on the tongue and heel. There is also a red, white, and blue “Olympic” Dame 9, but this version is reportedly limited to friends and family.
