H&M, known for its high-profile designer collaborations, is set to partner with renowned Indian fashion designer Anamika Khanna for its latest project. This collection will blend Khanna’s modern approach with traditional Indian craftsmanship.
Anamika Khanna, who founded her label in 1998 and became the first Indian designer to showcase at Paris Fashion Week, is celebrated for her unique style. She combines rich craftsmanship with contemporary tailoring and luxurious loungewear.
“Anamika’s style merges traditional bridalwear with modern elements like sportswear,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s creative advisor. “Her ability to blend feminine and masculine elements creates something entirely new.”
Khanna’s collaboration with H&M follows Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s partnership with the brand in 2021. This new collection will also commemorate 10 years of H&M in the Indian market.
The collection promises to be a hit, featuring vibrant colors and patterns suitable for both day and night wear. It includes flowing skirts, capes, dresses, tailored pieces, jewelry, accessories, and some sporty items.
H&M describes the collection as a fresh take on traditional Indian garments like kurta pyjamas, kaftans, and lungi skirts. Shoppers can find the collection in stores and online starting September 5.
