Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) always energizes the Danish capital with its vibrant atmosphere, colorful houses, and scenic beauty. This season, for spring/summer 2025, the event featured both established and emerging Scandinavian brands showcasing their latest designs. CPHFW stands out for its emphasis on sustainability and its ongoing efforts to inspire the fashion industry to adopt greener practices.
Highlights from the spring/summer catwalks include:
The Garment
Designer Charlotte Eskildsen’s SS25 collection, inspired by the Thorvaldsens Museum in Denmark, blended classic elegance with modern sensibilities. The collection included intricate lace, lingerie fabrics from French flea markets, delicate chiffons, beautiful knitwear, and sophisticated tailoring.
Skall Studio
To mark its 10th anniversary, Skall Studio presented a collection celebrating its signature clean lines and feminine aesthetic. Designers drew inspiration from British designer Loulou de la Falaise, incorporating delicate colors, prints, and a fusion of feminine and masculine styles.
Sinead O’Dwyer
Irish designer Sinead O’Dwyer made her debut at CPHFW after winning the Zalando Visionary Award for 2024. Her collection, ‘Everything Opens To Touch’, featured reimagined signature designs, including shibari-inspired harnesses, micro-culottes with ruffles, and bright blue denim in pleated skirts and mini dresses.
A. Roege Hove
Amalie Røge Hove’s SS25 collection, shown in a brewery in the Meatpacking District, was inspired by framing the female body. The collection explored variations from strict lines to more fluid, body-influenced shapes, allowing the textiles to speak for themselves.
Remain
Creative director Martin Asbjørn designed a collection centered on ‘superhero’ silhouettes adapted for modern women. He drew inspiration from the power dressing of the Eighties and Nineties, contrasting bold colors and oversized tailoring with minimalist, elegant styles.
Operasport
Founders Awa Malina Stelter and Stephanie Gundelach based their SS25 collection on the Exillion Garden north of Copenhagen. Reflecting the garden’s formal lines and rich color palette, the collection featured mars red, duberry, blue, white, black, and parsnip hues.
Baum und Pferdgarten
Designers Rikke Baumgarten and Helle Hestehave drew inspiration from the sports events of summer 2024, including the European Cup and Paris Olympics. The collection captured the vibrant energy of these events, and the show took place at Østerbro Stadium in collaboration with the Copenhagen Football Club B.93.
