COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) — Promises Brazos Valley Inpatient Rehabilitation is reaching out to the community for clothing donations to support its patients’ recovery journey.

As a key addiction treatment facility in College Station, Promises Brazos Valley is dedicated to assisting both adults and young adults in the Brazos Valley area. The center caters to individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those at various income levels and stages of homelessness seeking help for substance use disorders and primary mental health issues.

David Ludlow, Executive Director of Promises Brazos Valley, highlighted the center’s unique challenge. “We serve a broad spectrum of individuals who come to us with different levels of resources. Many arrive with only the clothes they are wearing,” Ludlow explained.

The center’s ongoing need for donations is critical to maintaining the quality of its services. Ludlow emphasized, “We are always in need of clothing donations, particularly men’s clothes, though women’s clothing is also welcome.”

Ludlow underscored the importance of clothing in the recovery process. “Recovery is deeply personal, and individuals often struggle with their own internal traumas. By providing appropriate clothing, we aim to make our patients feel more comfortable and confident. Clothing plays a significant role in helping individuals feel accepted and less stigmatized during their treatment,” he said.

Additionally, donated clothing is given to patients upon discharge, allowing them to continue their journey with a sense of dignity and personal belonging.

The center accepts both new and gently used clothing in various sizes, including new underwear. Donations can be dropped off at Promises Brazos Valley, located at 3550 Normand Drive, College Station.

For those interested in supporting the treatment center, your contributions will play a crucial role in enhancing the comfort and success of individuals on their path to recovery.
