Congo Clothing Company directs its efforts towards empowering the most vulnerable: women affected by violence in the DRC. Every item sold, from socks to jackets, funds sewing classes for women undergoing care at Panzi Hospital. These classes are part of the hospital’s holistic approach to recovery, providing practical skills that empower women both economically and emotionally.

Since its inception in 2022, Congo Clothing Company has facilitated approximately 11,000 days of training for these women. Justin Irenge, from Panzi Hospital, notes that sewing classes are particularly popular and impactful, offering not just vocational skills but also mental health benefits through productivity and purpose.

Beyond its social mission, Congo Clothing Company integrates cultural significance into its designs. The brand’s logo and popular items incorporate geometric patterns reminiscent of the Kuba Kingdom’s textiles, merging Western fashion with Congolese heritage.
