BEPO, a Chester-based clothing and lifestyle brand founded by husband-and-wife duo Ben and Natalia Taylor, has been named a finalist for the Legacy Award at this year’s Small Awards.
Organised by Small Business Britain and supported by this year’s sponsor Constant Contact, the Small Awards are now in their ninth year and aim to spotlight the achievements of the UK’s 5.5 million small businesses.
Launched the same year the awards began, BEPO was inspired by Ben Taylor’s personal journey following his diagnosis with ADHD, depression, and anxiety. The brand was built around the themes of mental wellness, open conversation, and encouragement, which are reflected in every aspect of their work.
BEPO’s offerings include hoodies, t-shirts, and even a book, all carrying positive messages that emphasize the importance of mental health awareness and support. In addition to their apparel, the company actively engages with communities through talks and workshops at schools, colleges, and universities.
The Taylors’ dedication to blending entrepreneurship with purpose has earned BEPO a spot among eight finalists competing for the Legacy Award, which celebrates outstanding family businesses. In total, there are 11 award categories this year, spanning themes such as sustainability, innovation, and digital transformation.
Expressing their excitement, Ben and Natalia shared: “We are thrilled to be chosen as finalists and we’re looking forward to flying the BEPO positivity flag and celebrating with all the other amazing small business finalists in London next month.”
Michelle Ovens, founder of Small Business Britain, praised the impact of nominees like BEPO: “Every year, the Small Awards celebrate the UK’s most inspiring small business owners, who are the heart of their communities, and are fuelling the nation’s economic growth. BEPO is extremely deserving of being a finalist, and we look forward to celebrating together in May.”
Winners of this year’s Small Awards will be revealed at a ceremony held at St Mary’s Church in London on Thursday, May 22.
