Renowned designer Nishtha Bansal took the stage at Bombay Times Fashion Week to unveil her latest couture collection, Alchemy of Love, with actress Rakul Preet Singh captivating the audience as the showstopper. Drawing inspiration from Gustav Klimt’s iconic painting The Kiss, this collection explores the transformative and emotional essence of love.
With a seamless blend of artistic expression and sartorial elegance, Bansal’s collection delves into the duality of love — balancing strength with softness, and control with surrender. The collection presents a perfect harmony of structured silhouettes and fluid drapes, reflecting a vision that is both bold and ethereal. Corsetry is used to symbolize structure and discipline, while luxurious fabrics such as satin, crepe, and twill evoke a sense of flowing romanticism.
A standout feature of the collection is the intricately designed 3D peony, a central motif that showcases Bansal’s meticulous craftsmanship. Utilizing traditional techniques like dabka, resham, and badla embroidery, the floral detail conveys both timeless elegance and the deep emotional resonance of love.
The collection’s color palette draws from the rich tones of gold, deep red, and green, reminiscent of the hues found in The Kiss. These colors are thoughtfully incorporated to evoke a visceral emotional response, enhancing the collection’s narrative and reinforcing its theme of love’s depth.
“The collection is a perfect reflection of love in all its facets — feminine, bold, and timeless. The detailing and craftsmanship make it feel as if you’re wearing a work of art, and I truly felt the power of love with every step I took down the runway,” said Rakul Preet Singh.
Alchemy of Love is designed not just for brides and bridesmaids, but for fashion-forward individuals looking to make a statement. It transcends traditional occasion wear, offering something timeless for those who wish to embody love in its most expressive form.
The collection will be available at select multi-designer stores across India by the end of May 2025.
