In the dynamic realm of Indian fashion, a new wave is making headlines—one that honors the legacy of traditional textiles while seamlessly catering to contemporary lifestyles. With the rise of prêt-à-porter, fashion has become more inclusive, offering ready-to-wear ensembles that resonate with both cultural depth and modern functionality. Leading this movement is the self-founded label of Shivani and Saurabh Bhargava, a duo redefining Indian pret wear through a unique fusion of age-old craftsmanship and modern design.
“Our goal was to create something meaningful and beautiful,” shares Shivani Bhargava. Her natural flair for style, combined with Saurabh’s design zeal, became the foundation of their clothing brand. Anchored in authenticity, the couple ventured into the weaving heartlands of Bengal and Madhya Pradesh to source traditional handwoven fabrics such as khadi and chanderi. Their work champions sustainable fashion and uplifts local artisans, with every garment reflecting this mission.
Focusing on Pret Women’s Wear, the brand showcases collections that honor nature and cultural legacy. “We embrace simplicity with nature-inspired visuals, combining old fashion techniques with new contours,” Saurabh explains. Their distinctive Indo-Western silhouettes appeal to the modern woman while staying deeply rooted in Indian tradition.
Two standout collections, Utsav and Enchanted Garden, beautifully illustrate this vision. “They draw inspiration from the beauty of nature, intricate handcrafts, and the vibrancy of festive occasions,” says Shivani. Rich in hand embroidery, chintz prints, and hand-painted detailing, these pieces seamlessly blend the elegance of the past with the needs of the present, featuring co-ord sets, tunics, and statement capes.
The Utsav line stands out for its thoughtful color story—ivory, mustard yellow, emerald green, rose pink, and traditional red. “Each shade carries a unique symbolism: ivory for purity, mustard yellow for warmth, emerald green for prosperity, rose pink for charm, and red for confidence and tradition,” Shivani explains. Together, these colors make the collection ideal for both intimate gatherings and festive celebrations.
On the other hand, Enchanted Garden offers a dreamy, romantic approach. Embellished with delicate floral patterns and detailed quarter sleeve embroidery, the pieces exude subtle sophistication. “These elements add a layer of romance and refinement, appealing to women who cherish artisanal detail and timeless elegance,” says Shivani.
A key strength of the label lies in its versatility. Each piece is designed to adapt effortlessly from casual daytime wear to ornate evening attire. “We ensure our garments can move from casual to festive with just a change in accessories,” Shivani explains. Whether it’s a relaxed choga set for a brunch or a dramatic cape ensemble for an evening event, flexibility is at the heart of their design ethos.
Saurabh adds, “We believe sustainable fashion and high-quality craftsmanship should be within reach.” This belief is clearly woven into every collection, positioning Shivani and Saurabh Bhargava’s label not just as a fashion brand—but as a movement towards meaningful, mindful style.
