From April 8 to 11, Bogotá hosted the fourth edition of Universo Mola Fashion Week, solidifying its place as Latin America’s premier sustainable fashion event with expanding international acclaim. Held at EAN University and co-organized by the Laverde Foundation, the week-long event brought together a dynamic mix of designers, brands, institutions, and audiences to explore and advance sustainable solutions within the regional fashion industry.
Spanning five days, Universo Mola Fashion Week 2025 showcased 28 brands from countries including Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Mexico, Peru, and Guatemala. The event attracted over 2,500 in-person attendees and garnered an impressive online audience of 148,000 viewers.
The program included runway shows, forums, workshops, exhibitions, and a business opportunity roundtable, facilitating 123 meetings between 32 participants and 16 companies. The primary focus was to promote sustainable collaborations and stimulate commercial growth within the fashion sector.
A diverse lineup of 39 speakers participated in the academic sessions, addressing critical topics such as regeneration, circularity, and business models that drive social and environmental impact.
One of the key highlights of this edition was the establishment of the Latin American Sustainable Fashion Academic Network. This new initiative was launched following discussions between universities and training institutions from Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, and Italy. The network aims to enhance academic cooperation and equip the next generation of fashion professionals with a comprehensive, sustainability-focused education.
Throughout the event, both emerging and established brands received vital support in the form of scholarships, mentorships, and internationalization opportunities. Notable highlights included the selection of brands for Guatemala Fashion Week 2026 and product showcases in Europe through the Istituto Europeo di Design.
The event concluded with the Mola Red Carpet and a final runway show titled “Nostalgia for the Future.” In a noteworthy announcement, organizers revealed a two-year strategic pause to restructure the initiative’s action plan, expand partnerships, and enhance its impact throughout Latin America.
According to the organizers, this pause will enable Universo Mola to further develop innovative projects aimed at transforming the fashion industry through sustainable and regenerative practices.
