Port Moresby is set to become the hub of high fashion as Port Moresby Fashion Week (POMFW) 2025 prepares to unveil an exciting celebration of local talent and luxury. As a flagship event under the broader PNG Fashion Week initiative, POMFW will transform Vision City Mega Mall into a pulsating runway of creativity and culture from April 19th to 20th, aligning with the Easter weekend festivities.
This year’s event will spotlight the vibrant future of Papua New Guinean fashion, blending local artistry with global ambition. Leveraging Vision City Mega Mall’s impressive foot traffic of 20,000 visitors daily, the event is strategically designed to give designers unmatched visibility and engagement with the public. The show will feature a curated array of garments, accessories, and luxury pieces, offering a powerful glimpse into the evolving landscape of PNG’s fashion scene.
Among the headline designers is Shining Limited, recognized for its high-end, meticulously crafted accessories and fashion pieces. Glow Boutique will also take the spotlight, showcasing collections that embody style, elegance, and refined beauty. Elizabeth Jerry, a promising talent and runner-up at the Cosmopolitan Amateur Fashion Show, will present pieces that merge cultural heritage with modern runway sensibilities.
Joining her is Alova Manu, the winner of the same competition, known for minimalist silhouettes enriched by delicate handcrafted details. David Kila Pat, celebrated for his ability to harmonize Papua New Guinea’s natural splendor with innovative design, will debut a collection that promises to redefine contemporary Pacific fashion. Shirley Nornan brings a unique touch with designs that seamlessly fuse traditional artistry with modern aesthetics through cultural artifacts and accessories. Hannah Beauty Box will complement the runway glamour by offering salon and makeup products tailored for fashion-forward audiences.
Notably, designers Elizabeth Jerry, Alova Manu, and David Kila Pat will also showcase their work at the GENESIS showcase scheduled for September 2025 at APEC Haus, expanding their influence beyond the POMFW platform.
The choice of Vision City Mega Mall as the event venue reflects the organizers’ mission to bridge designers and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) with a wide and diverse audience. It’s a collaborative effort aimed at fostering emerging talent and cultivating the city’s creative momentum.
Entertainment will be an integral part of the experience, with DJ Rich (Richard Akuvua) delivering vibrant beats throughout the event. Hosting duties will be led by Reuben Kala, ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere for all attendees.
Adding another layer of excitement, POMFW 2025 will host the second round of the PNG Fashion Week Model Citizens Auditions. This segment will offer attendees a front-row seat to the discovery of Papua New Guinea’s future modeling stars, ahead of the main PNG Fashion Week event in September.
POMFW 2025 promises to be a standout celebration of local fashion, talent, and entrepreneurship. It invites fashion lovers, trendsetters, and shoppers alike to be part of a groundbreaking cultural moment at Vision City Mega Mall, where creativity and opportunity come together in style.
