Golf icon Tiger Woods has shared his deep commitment to Sun Day Red, the apparel brand he launched in 2024. Emphasizing that the brand is not merely a side project, Woods sees it as a significant part of his legacy as a professional golfer and athlete.
Woods, whose legendary golf career began in 1996, has accumulated 82 PGA Tour victories and 15 Major Championship titles, making him one of the most decorated golfers in history. In February 2024, he partnered with TaylorMade Golf to introduce Sun Day Red, which released its first collection on May 1, 2024. Since then, the brand has expanded its offerings with multiple collections.
Speaking about his involvement, Woods made it clear that he is hands-on with the brand’s development.
“This isn’t a side project,” Woods stated via Golf Digest.
He further highlighted his dedication to the quality and authenticity of the clothing, ensuring that every piece meets the high standards he personally upholds.
“I’ve always been deeply involved in the creation process. That goes back to before Sun Day Red. That was head-to-toe and even on the hard-good side [with Nike]. This is no different. I want it to be authentic and real. If I’m wearing it, there’s no reason the consumer can’t wear it. That’s important,” Woods explained.
The brand’s collection includes full-vent hats, polos, t-shirts, sweaters, socks, and hoodies, catering to golfers and sportswear enthusiasts alike. Among its standout items is a high-performance, weatherproof rain jacket priced at $550, reflecting the premium nature of the brand.
Before launching Sun Day Red, Woods enjoyed a long-standing partnership with Nike that spanned 27 years. According to Fortune, this deal brought in approximately $660 million in contract revenue for the golf star.
With Sun Day Red, Woods is now building his own legacy in sportswear, ensuring that his influence extends beyond the golf course.
