At Lakmé Fashion Week 2025, in partnership with FDCI, two distinct worlds of fashion and technology came together in a groundbreaking collaboration that redefined the future of ready-to-wear fashion. Amit Aggarwal, renowned for his innovative designs, teamed up with Nothing, the tech brand known for its transparent and minimalist approach, to deliver a one-of-a-kind runway experience.
The recently launched Nothing Phone (3a) served as the primary inspiration for Amit Aggarwal’s latest collection, blending technology seamlessly into fashion. Embracing Nothing’s philosophy of showcasing technology rather than concealing it, the new Prét line by Amit Aggarwal brought a fresh perspective to modern fashion, combining heritage elements with contemporary design.
Amit Aggarwal’s signature sharp tailoring took on a new direction with unexpected drapes and innovative silhouettes that pushed the boundaries of everyday wear. Cropped jackets and lightweight separates served as key pieces in the collection, while asymmetric hemlines provided an unconventional edge to the designs. Comfort played a crucial role in this season’s offering, with structured yet fluid silhouettes that allowed for easy movement on the runway. Layered pieces with bold, distinct details encouraged buyers to create their own mix-and-match looks, highlighting both the aesthetic and functional aspects of fashion.
Fabric choice has always been a defining feature of Aggarwal’s work, and this collection was no exception. He combined traditional Banaras brocade with his signature handwoven polymer, creating a harmonious fusion of craftsmanship, innovation, and heritage. The collection was adorned with infinity motifs, rich jewel tones, and playful embellishments such as sequins on footwear and metallic accents on outerwear, adding a modern touch to timeless designs.
“This collection is about freedom—clothes that move with you, adapt to you, and evolve with your style,” explained Amit Aggarwal. “Fashion should be effortless yet expressive. These pieces are designed to be worn your way, mixed with what you already love, and styled to feel uniquely you.”
The collection featured both men’s and women’s wear, with a bold, fusion-inspired look that showcased daring details—true to Amit Aggarwal’s design sensibility. Bollywood star Bhumi Pednekar made a glamorous entrance, closing the show in a chic, white silk shirt paired with a brocade corset and tie, complemented by black, baggy pants.
The Amit Aggarwal x Nothing showcase at Lakmé Fashion Week 2025 seamlessly merged the worlds of fashion and technology, presenting a visionary approach to contemporary prêt fashion that celebrates both innovation and tradition.
