At 14:00 on March 22, 2025, during Beijing Fashion Week, AM/JASMINE captivated audiences with the unveiling of its 2025 Autumn/Winter Collection at the iconic Beijing Wangfu Center. Rooted in the “Belle Époque” concept envisioned by creator Amanda Chen Liang, the collection delivered a visually enchanting retro spectacle that drew fashion enthusiasts and industry insiders alike.
Since its inception, AM/JASMINE has stood out for its distinct creativity. The brand embodies designer Amanda Chen Liang’s affinity for refined, natural elegance, blending classic fashion with understated luxury while maintaining an unwavering focus on quality. The brand name “AM” represents the initials of Amanda and her daughter Mandy, while “JASMINE” is Mandy’s middle name—symbolizing a deep mother-daughter bond. Amanda, an accomplished designer, model, modeling agency director, principal of a model school, singer, and fashion show producer, infuses her extensive industry experience and personal passion into every design, making each piece a reflection of modern fashion sensibilities.
The 2025 Autumn/Winter collection draws inspiration from late Renaissance fashion and classic royal aesthetics, presenting a highly romanticized vision that defies traditional fashion norms. Paying homage to Renaissance-era styles, the collection features dramatic waist-cinching details, vintage irregular cuts, and nostalgic 90s elements such as waistbands and bubble skirts. Through exaggerated design elements, the collection blurs gender boundaries, offering an inclusive and empowering fashion statement.
A striking blend of classic plaid patterns and tie-dye techniques injects vibrancy into the collection, reminiscent of the artistic spirit of the Renaissance. Luxurious satin fabrics, with a moonlit sheen, evoke the mysterious allure of oil paintings, bringing out the dynamic beauty of femininity. From ethereal sheer gowns to intricate lace embroidery, the collection seamlessly merges vintage charm with contemporary aesthetics, exuding an undeniable romantic essence.
True to AM/JASMINE’s tradition, the runway show featured a diverse lineup of models, including supermodels, modern housewives, elegant elderly women, and children. This casting choice emphasized the brand’s belief that fashion transcends age and background. Supermodels embodied limitless possibilities, housewives and older women redefined everyday elegance, while young models represented the next generation of fashion, reinforcing AM/JASMINE’s core philosophy of love and familial bonds.
The highly anticipated show commenced with the Pure White Series, introduced by lead model Jingya Qu and concluded by Mandy Jasmine Chow. This collection showcased airy, delicate fabrics and fluid silhouettes, evoking the warmth and optimism of the first morning light. By incorporating layered folds and soft textures, the designs created an ethereal, dreamlike ambiance—akin to a misty sunrise embracing the horizon.
The show reached its peak with the Multi-Color Oil Painting Series, celebrating the vibrant spectrum of youth and adulthood. Bold hues—including purple, red, green, and brown—interwove with checkered patterns, reminiscent of textured oil paintings. Each shade carried symbolic depth: purple exuded mystique, red radiated passion, green reflected serenity, and brown embodied grounded sophistication. Through this series, AM/JASMINE captured the diverse personalities and emotional landscapes of life’s journey.
The grand finale, the Black Midnight Series, opened with U.S. model Rachel Jiang, enveloping the audience in an atmosphere of quiet introspection. Deep black hues set a contemplative tone, marking a return to reality after the excitement of the day. Amanda Chen Liang herself took to the runway alongside Jingya Qu and Mandy Jasmine Chow, concluding the show in a breathtaking moment of artistic expression. By employing a masterful play of materials, light, and shadow, the series evoked the profound stillness of midnight, symbolizing self-reflection and personal discovery.
Intricate embellishments, including delicate beadwork, opulent feathers, and finely crafted pleats, added layers of sophistication to the collection. Every detail was meticulously conceived to enhance the garments’ texture and transform them into wearable works of art, reinforcing AM/JASMINE’s commitment to exceptional design and craftsmanship.
Reflecting on the collection, Amanda Chen Liang shared, “Color is the most expressive language of emotion. In this AM/JASMINE show, I wanted to narrate a story of life’s different phases through a spectrum of hues. Every individual carries a unique blend of colors and experiences. AM/JASMINE aspires to be a platform where girls and women, from ages 3 to 70, can express themselves and celebrate their individuality.”
The AM/JASMINE 2025 Autumn/Winter show not only showcased the brand’s meticulous design and artistic vision but also conveyed an uplifting and optimistic outlook on life. Through its harmonious fusion of nostalgia and modernity, the collection offered audiences both a visual spectacle and a profound emotional journey.
