Arena Offices, with 11 locations including one in Basingstoke, has made a generous donation of 80 garments from its staff uniform stores to Smart Works, a charity focused on helping unemployed women. These items, which include 25 blouses, 17 dresses, 19 jackets, 11 shirts, and 10 skirts, will be upcycled and put to good use.
Smart Works aims to provide unemployed women with the “confidence, clothing, and coaching” they need to secure job opportunities. Over the past decade, the organization has successfully helped more than 37,000 women enter employment by offering donated professional clothing and interview coaching.
Fran Williamson, HR and training manager at Arena Offices and the leader of this initiative, expressed her pride in the company’s partnership with Smart Works. She said, “Not only do our donations divert unwanted clothing from landfills, but they are passed onto women who need them most.”
She continued, “The right office wear can give you so much more confidence, especially when heading into something as nerve-wracking as a job interview.”
Arena Offices’ core mission is to make work enjoyable for everyone, and they are committed to ensuring that those in need of assistance can access the resources to thrive. “Smart Works supports those experiencing economic hardship to access the resources they need to succeed and find security through work,” Williamson added.
