From March 13 to 18, 2025, the prestigious Manege Central Exhibition Hall in Moscow hosted the Fourth Moscow Fashion Week, which has become a key event in both Russian and global fashion. This year’s event brought together top designers, industry professionals, international buyers, and fashion enthusiasts, offering a unique platform for sharing ideas, insights, and creative solutions. Indian designers stood out, making a significant contribution to the global fashion scene with their distinctive perspective.
The Moscow Fashion Week featured an impressive lineup of collections from both Russian and international designers, showcasing the latest trends and innovations. Among the highlights were the vibrant displays from Indian designers.
One of the prominent international collaborations at the event was the Indian brand showcase, “FDCI presents: CoEK-Khadi India | Samant Chauhan.” The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), a non-profit organization that supports the business of fashion in India, took part in the event. FDCI represents over 400 members from India’s top fashion talent. This year, the organization brought Indian creativity to the global stage. Renowned designers emphasized India’s rich cultural heritage, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design elements. The collection featured Khadi, a sustainable and durable fabric, demonstrating the blend of tradition with contemporary fashion. This showcase not only celebrated India’s fashion legacy but also highlighted its commitment to sustainability and ethical practices, appealing to fashion-conscious consumers worldwide.
Indian designers’ participation in Moscow Fashion Week plays a significant role in strengthening cultural ties between India and Russia. Fashion serves as a powerful medium for sharing cultural values and traditions, and by presenting their collections in Moscow, Indian designers not only introduce unique Indian techniques and motifs but also enrich the Russian audience with their cultural essence.
The event saw around 200 fashion industry representatives, including designers, stylists, buyers, and journalists. Additionally, the program featured a series of lectures on specialized topics and a selection of short films highlighting the latest fashion trends from countries like Argentina, Germany, Mexico, Russia, the United States, the Philippines, and South Africa. These films were screened at the Artplay Design Center as part of the World Fashion Shorts festival. The Fourth Moscow Fashion Week reaffirmed its status as a key event on the global fashion calendar, contributing to the growth and development of the fashion industry in Russia and beyond.
