Just a week after Paul Andrew unveiled his debut collection for Sergio Rossi at Milan Fashion Week, the Italian luxury footwear brand made a splash on the Paris runway with two major collaborations.
Sergio Rossi teamed up with two emerging talents, Duran Lantink and Hodakova, for show-stopping collaborations that grabbed attention on the fashion circuit.
On Sunday, Lantink’s show captivated the crowd with his signature humor and boundary-pushing ideas, taking them to new heights. The collaboration between Sergio Rossi and Lantink blended the brand’s renowned technical expertise with the designer’s disruptive creativity, all while maintaining a focus on Italian craftsmanship and sustainability. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Sergio Rossi on custom shoes that perfectly complement the collection,” Lantink said. “I’m especially excited about transforming an existing model with my snake print design.”
Paul Andrew, creative director of Sergio Rossi, praised Lantink’s work, saying, “Duran Lantink is creating a glamorous yet radical new approach to ready-to-wear that is also sustainably responsible. It’s exciting that he chose to partner with us to develop footwear that serves as the foundation for his latest creations.”
Earlier in the week, Sergio Rossi’s collaboration with Ellen Hodakova Larsson, the LVMH Prize winner, debuted on the Hodakova runway. The footwear, crafted using deadstock materials, was made at Sergio Rossi’s San Mauro Pascoli factory in Italy.
“Working closely with Sergio Rossi to create the complete Hodakova look and finally designing our own shoes has been an incredibly rewarding process,” Hodakova said. “We’re proud to be supported by the Italian legacy, which prioritizes craftsmanship in every design.” Hodakova, known for reworking existing garments and objects, also highlighted the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
Andrew expressed his admiration for Hodakova’s environmental focus, noting that Sergio Rossi is proud to create footwear that aligns with her distinct vision.
Sergio Rossi has a long-standing tradition of collaborating with ready-to-wear designers. Over the years, the brand has partnered with iconic designers such as Gianni Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, and Azzedine Alaïa.
