Florence Pugh looked absolutely stunning as she graced the runway at Harris Reed’s autumn/winter show during London Fashion Week on Thursday.
The 29-year-old actress caught everyone’s attention as she posed backstage in a striking black sheer dress, featuring a matching corset detail and dramatic flared embellishments. The ensemble was topped off with a hood and a gold detail along the waist, with Florence completing her look with a pair of black heels, which added extra height. She accessorized with a gold necklace, matching earrings, and dramatic eyelashes.
As Florence took to the runway, she commanded the spotlight, with notable figures such as socialite Lady Mary Charteris watching from the audience.
This appearance comes after Florence spoke about the challenges of being a young woman in Hollywood, describing it as “very hard” and “exhausting.” The actress, who made her debut in the 2014 drama The Falling at just 18, has since become one of the most in-demand stars in the industry.
During an appearance on the Reign With Josh Smith podcast, Florence reflected on entering the entertainment world during the Me Too movement. She emphasized how important it was for her to stand up for herself.
“It’s very hard. It’s exhausting as well. It’s really, really tiring,” she said. “Young women in this industry have so much to fight for and to protect and to defend and then to shout about. It’s really, really hard.”
Florence also spoke about the personal growth she has experienced in navigating these challenges: “It makes you claim yourself. It makes you have to figure yourself out… Now I get to just look after myself, I look after my heart and that’s where I am right now. I wouldn’t have changed anything. I’m really proud of the things that I stood up for.”
She reflected on the era she entered Hollywood, marked by the Times Up and Me Too movements, noting the importance of learning from other women and understanding the ongoing fight for equality.
“Now we’re in a time which is definitely getting better for women but it doesn’t mean that you don’t constantly have to keep on fighting for things that you believe are correct,” she added. “I’ve always been proud of the way that I defended myself whether that’s on Instagram or in interviews. I’ve always been proud of the way that I’m not scared of speaking up for myself.”
Florence also addressed the importance of managing her mental health, especially after taking on intense roles. She recalled her experience filming Midsommar, admitting that the emotional toll of the role made her feel like she had “abused” herself.
“Protecting myself is something that I’ve had to learn how to do,” she explained. “There have been some roles that I’ve given too much to, and I’ve been broken for a long while afterwards.”
She specifically mentioned the challenges of Midsommar, sharing: “When I did Midsommar, I definitely felt like I abused myself in a way in the places that I got myself to. The nature of figuring these things out is you need to go, ‘all right, well I can’t do that again cause that was too much.'”
Florence humorously added, “They were gonna have a biscuit and a tea and they were all going to shave Mummy’s hair and they were gonna collect it. I added the collecting because I wanted to actually keep my hair this time.”
