Carla Bruni made a stunning debut at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Tuesday, Oct. 15, wowing the audience with a bold, all-black look. The 56-year-old Italian-French model and singer, best known for her iconic 1990s runway career, took to the catwalk in a show-stopping ensemble.
Bruni, who has graced the runways of top designers like Christian Dior, Chanel, and Versace, turned heads in a daring corset with sparkling exposed boning and matching minimalistic bottoms. She also wore the brand’s Rose Lace Balconette Catsuit, a full-body lace suit that ended just above her ankles, paired with strappy, glittering stilettos.
Her outfit was completed with a pair of chunky hoop earrings and, of course, Victoria’s Secret Angel wings. Bruni’s wings, outlined in black with delicate beaded details, added a dramatic touch to the look.
For her makeup, Bruni opted for a soft, peach-toned look, including glossy lips and eyeshadow that complemented her brunette waves. The model’s radiant appearance left a lasting impression at the New York City event.
Bruni’s appearance at the Victoria’s Secret runway comes a year after she revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago. In a personal video shared during the show, Bruni spoke candidly about her battle. She explained that she underwent surgery, radiotherapy, and hormone therapy, but was fortunate that her cancer was detected early and had not yet become aggressive.
“I was lucky because my cancer wasn’t aggressive,” Bruni said in the video. “It didn’t have time to spread.” She emphasized the importance of regular screenings, sharing her personal experience of yearly mammograms. “If I hadn’t had one, I wouldn’t have a left breast today,” she added.
Bruni also urged women to prioritize their health, saying, “Do your mammograms every year. Your lives depend on it.”
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, featuring Bruni’s runway moment, airs on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. ET on Prime Video, or you can catch it on Victoria’s Secret’s YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram pages.
