Nike, Inc. has appointed Kizmet Mills as its new Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Officer, effective November 11. Mills is the fifth person to hold this position since 2020.

Mills has been with Nike since 2016, most recently serving as the Senior Director of Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Before joining Nike, she worked at The Coca-Cola Company as Senior Director and Head of Global University Relations and Recruiting Programs.

She succeeds James Loduca, who announced his departure from Nike on LinkedIn due to family concerns. Loduca held the position for approximately 18 months, following Jarvis Sam, who left the role in November 2022 after just six months.

Before Sam, Felicia Mayo was the Chief Talent, Diversity, and Culture Officer for two years until August 2022. She succeeded Kellie Leonard, Nike’s first Head of Diversity, who served from 2018 to 2020.

In a statement, Nike emphasized its commitment to fostering a culture of belonging. “The work of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team is critical to helping us achieve this mission,” the company said.

With over eight years of senior leadership experience at Nike, Mills is well-positioned to advance the company’s goals in supporting all athletes.

This leadership change comes two weeks after Elliott Hill became the new CEO of Nike, replacing John Donahoe.
