Tyra Banks is making a dramatic return to the spotlight. The former host of America’s Next Top Model revealed on Wednesday that she will walk in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show when it comes back to New York City later this year. In an Instagram video, Banks and model Gigi Hadid teased the show set for October 15. Banks presented Hadid with a golden invitation and said, “See you there,” while Chappell Roan’s song ‘Femininomenon’ played in the background.
Banks, a former Victoria’s Secret Angel, has walked in nine of the brand’s shows, while Hadid has walked in three, including last year’s streamed event. The show was last held in 2018; the 2019 event was canceled amid challenges for the company, including falling ratings, decreasing sales, and criticism over lack of model diversity. The company paused the show to focus on a rebranding effort.
In May, Victoria’s Secret announced its revamped show. An Instagram post said, “We’ve read the comments and heard you. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love.”
