As spring ushers in the wedding season, designer Gilles Mendel marked a significant moment in his career with a sophisticated dinner celebration at Dowling’s at The Carlyle. The event, hosted alongside his daughter and House of Gilles co-founder Chloe Mendel Corgan, Cesare Casadei, and Arianna Casadei, commemorated the launch of the House of Gilles x Casadei bridal footwear collaboration. Held during New York Bridal Fashion Week, the gathering spotlighted their newly debuted line, which complements Gilles Mendel’s Bridal 2025 collection and arrives just in time for brides preparing to walk down the aisle.
Guests sipped champagne and martinis while exploring the exclusive styles displayed along the venue’s mirrored walls. The collection featured Casadei’s classic slingback and ballerina flats, elegant pumps, and high platform heels, each infused with refined bridal touches. From embroidered lace and crystal blossoms to pleated duchesse satin, botanical details, and sculpted satin Calla lilies, the designs embodied a romantic and opulent aesthetic. Available by special order only, the collection will be accessible through House of Gilles, Casadei, and select retail and bridal partners, ensuring each bride can find her ideal fit.
As attendees gathered for dinner, conversation flowed from the latest bridal collections presented at NYBFW to the rising costs of wedding gowns and the onset of festival season with Coachella on the horizon. The menu was equally indulgent, beginning with lobster bisque, romaine salad, burrata, and shaved Brussels sprouts. Main courses included filet mignon—a clear favorite—alongside mushroom pasta and roasted chicken. Dessert brought a sweet close to the evening with pavlova topped with pink berries, served alongside coffee and tea.
